only forecast 5cm of snow here tomorrow..but a big fall in temps from +5c down to -20c...trouble is my car is filthy and needs a wash desperately but seems pointless with temperatures up and down every few days

yeah it looks like they downgraded....maybe 10cm's here as strong northeast winds will surely help with upsloping.

 

I am pikcing the inlaws up from calgary airport at 7pm so hoping the worst of it is over by then

In parts of the USA it is had been cold enough to make boiling water freeze in mid air, he says "20 below zero" or -20f...........which is -28c

Very dangerous across the plains of North Dakota/Minnesota at the weekend, -35 uppers are extreme.  Certainly life threatening if not dressed properly.

 

 

This extreme cold spreads much further south and east into next week. 

 

 

To the point where -20 uppers are encroaching on Georgia! so far south.
