That webcam in Stanley shows the snow beautifully. As Stanley is about 25 miles north of me, but higher up to be fair, it gives me a taste of whats possibly coming.

Is that Stanley, Consett, or Stanley, Crook, by the way?

How long has it been going for? Looks like a good couple of centimetres already.

Its only been precipitating in Newton Aycliffe for the past hour. Started off as rain but now temperatures are falling and its currently wet snow, but not lying.....yet.

if it has started snwing in newcastle that is good, the toon is more or less at sea level whilst stanley maybe only 12 miles away it is 200m above sea level. I love snow in the north east as we always get loads when it comes.

it has been raining all day here then we had some sleet at about 9 and then at 10 it started to fall a slight snow then and still is very heavy snow thanks to the wind. I am suprised it is lying as the ground is saturated with rain.

When I go back to darwen tomorrow, There will be a lot over the tops, And settled on the ground where I live up there, Of That I Am Certian.

Its only a matter of time Batescy. If its snowing (albeit wet) in Aycliffe, then you should have it within the hour, as you're only down the road.

I've just had a look on the Weather Underground at the temperature in Mowden. Its 2.7c, which is quite surprising. I have 1.7c and dropping. Normally Mowden is about 0.3c-0.5c warmer than my location.

Sorry Highcliffe, getting a bit carried away there. Even as a 31 year old, I still love to watch the snow fall.

You don't mind me posting about accumulations/temperature as the conditions worsen do you? Or is that for the current conditions forum? (I'm new to this)

Hmmm, I rather like the current snow status discussions, I think I may start a new thread for it in the winter section, As A Sticky.

Edit: Ok I've done that now, Fel free to talk about the snow in there, Its in the winter discussion forum.

Fell Free to discuss anything about snow there, The Current snow and or any snow situation you have experienced, Feel Free to discuss it all in there.

Heres the link.
