I guess putting "hand held anemometers" into Google will help. I dare say the websites will give you an idea of price too. If you can afford one, you can afford a new keyboard.

Kestrel 4000 is a good one - logs data and it works with VWS too. No faults with mine - had it just over a year running still on the std AAA batts!

Saw a man 0n tv with a hand heId 0ne - where can I buy 0ne and h0w much are they f0r hand heId?

Munro do a really good quality hand held anemometer. It gives a constant 1 second read out and an average every 10 seconds or so, excellent for measuring gusts. I think they're about £120.

If you type Munro meteorological into Google you'll get a full list of their stuff but you'll have to telephone for prices.
