I'm recieving reports that comet homes has exploded, my dad rung me after watching the news today. Can anyone comfirm this?

It actually exploded quite a while ago and is now larger than the sun or rather the explosion is, Homes is around 2 miles across http://www.ifa.hawaii.edu/faculty/jewitt/holmes.html
