Daffodils are not flowering that early , just the different type of daffs flower at different times. (the one that you will see around now are called febuary gold )Which are smaller then the trumpet daffs which are a lot bigger and flower from the end of feb onwards.

not true. the large ones are out in massive clumps in London - the same ones that are out in March normally. i've seen the small ones out too but the big fellas are as well. maybe our microclimate here in the smoke. but it is earlier than i can ever remember and i watch the same clumps every year (a bit retentive, i know )
