Max of 3 weather and 3 non-weather. All must be taken during March 2008.

These will then be sifted into weather-related and non-weather related before voting. The weather related photo that wins the vote will be in the netweather.tv calendar.

Remember:

Entries will NOT be accepted if they're sized above 1024 x 768.

So please resize.

Here's a free resizing program- it really couldn't be easier:

http://www.snapfiles.com/get/jresizer.html

Or for Macs:

Happy snapping

Hi Delta, the best thing to do is message shuggee as he runs the photo comps. I do know the photos have to be taken in the month the thread states and the size of them should be 1024. To add an image to a post, under the main txt box there is a section called attachments on the right hand side of that box there is a browse button. Click that and it will bring up a box where you can find files (pictures) stored on your PC. highlight the picture you want and click ok box. Then click the UPLOAD button. once it has finished uploading there is a small drop down txt box above the browse and upload button click that and click the first button in that box it has a green cross on. thats how i do it anyway. hope that helps.

I like the flower photos but I feel they are a bit overdone when conveying a winter bite in spring. Perhaps we should try take photos of other signs of spring under winter weather, like lambs covered in snow with frost bite? haha

Right,

I'm back; I've been to Scotland for Easter - excellent timing as it snowed every day (from 20th to 25th of March) and I saw some wonderful things and places. I have three entries for each competition....

Non-weather:

A Crested Tit with some company:

A splendid Greater Spotted Woodpecker:

post-2922-1206564996_thumb.jpg

and thirdly - well, this fella needs no introduction:

post-2922-1206565075_thumb.jpg

For my weather related entries the obvious subject is the snow (although to me all three are just nice landscapes :) )

It was an arctic day at the top of Findhorn Valley- negative 5 degrees celsius with ice pellets and heavy snow squalls. Despite this we still saw Snow Bunting, Dippers (my first), Golden Eagles, Buzzards and a pair of very territorial Peregrines taking offence at one particular Buzzard's presence - an amazing place...

Next we travelled to the West Coast to look for Sea Eagles etc - we saw one in the distance along with more Goldies and Buzzards plus numeorus Black Throated, Great Nothern and Red Throated Divers. This is a view from Mellon Udrigle beach looking towards the peak of Sail Mhor - it's an example of how the lower levels of the North-West of Scotland missed the brunt of the snow that covered the East:

And finally - we spent a morning looking for Capercaillie in a stretch of ancient Caledonian Pine forest near Abernethy - no Capers but we did visit (and see) a Black Grouse Lek earlier in the day - way too far away for any camera lens in my posession unfortunately....

Enjoy!

Bless you Andy, that's cheered and encouraged me :)

I think if your squirrel had been playing with his nuts it would be a winner for sure.

Is the the northwests version of Stonehenge?

That's Castlerigg stone circle, a magnificent place that's not overrun with tourists, unlike the Southern version ;)
