Mammatus clouds

While out doing my job this afternoon, I happened to notice a formation of clouds

sitting over Fochabers in Morayshire, which I managed to find a picture on internet

as Mammatus.

I am very much a beginner with weather, so could someone else in layman terms

to me, what I seeing weather wise at that time in the area please

Hi WG, mammatus are often associated with the underside of a storm where the air is sinking as it cools, more information can be found here:
