    Today is Lughnasad.

A cross-quarter day, the halfway point between the summer solstice and the autumnal equinox for the northern hemisphere.

First time ive ever heard of it,learn something new everyday as they say

There are the 'Christianised' saint's day associated with it and ,in Celtic past times, it used to be quite important. If you wanted to 'marry' you'd have a years 'trail period' starting on this day and then ,the following lughnasad, you either ditch them or confirm them. Maybe ,in view of todays high divorce rates, the christians might wish to adopt this practise for themselves.......why stop at Easter and Christmas?
