Seems a tad quiet on the monthly photo submission... I've done a search to find the correct place to put photos but alas it all seems a bit confusing to me :)

Mods delete or move as appropriate please... :)

here's a few snaps I took on the 12th August in Sunny Bedfordshire!

'Easy-Jet' just after take-off from Luton airport and then the downpour on our path 20 mins later. Would love to know the name of the wierd clouds..

Nice pics!

Here is a curious one I saw about 90 minutes before a big storm cell developed and formed one funnel cloud and two incipient funnels. I've never seen virga pointing in two, 180-degree opposed directions before, so I wonder if this was an early indicator of opposed winds and the funnel cloud to come?

And here's another from a few days ago - it's got even the Cloud Appreciation scratching their heads!

Cheers Mick.. Mammatus rings a bell B) 'Spayne' has some good ones too. Maybe NW could launch a "what can we see in the clouds?" thread - ahhh reminds me of my childhood :D

Brilliant photos, all three of you.

Would love to see some stormy weather like that up here.

Well done! B)

Also I agree that the cloud is mammatus, that's what's in spayne's photos too.
