Whernside is the highest point in Yorkshire at 737m - about 2500ft?

Superb views, as far as Blackpool tower and Morecambe bay. It even snowed for a minute or so at the summit (1c with a wind chill of -14c)

Note the Lake District in the background - that's the Scafell Massif at 972m

View of Whernside from the valley, with the Ribblehead Viaduct to the left.

Next time I will climb Ingleborough when there is snow cover - apparently the summit sees 70 days of lying snow a year!
