Right now, as I look out the window of my office it is PUKING down heavy snow in central Oslo. First snow of the year (at sea level) is creating havoc with the traffic, with no clearing and half the cars have not changed to winter tyres yet.

I just waded through 10cm of the stuff from the train station, and the bottom of my jeans are wet mad.gifrolleyes.gif It is likely to switch back to rain by this afternoon, so I might miss it with the camera frown.gif

Took the little one outside to meet hugheys best drop for the first time this morning. She didnt think much of it, but there are not too many Aussies who can say that they had their first snowflake hit them when they were 10 weeks old! wink.gifbiggrin.gif

Snow rapidly melting at sea level, but a totall accumulation of 10-15cm was seen, which is pretty impressive for a 3 hour fall (5cm an hour is heavy, even for here!)

Still at least 5-10cm on the ground, and the hills around Oslo should remain white for the next week at least.

    Me too,

Its great to see early snow in Europe. Love the photos.

Signs are good for this winter. My beautiful dahlias were struck down dead with overnight air frost here in Dublin  . -1C for most of the night.

We have not had such an early air frost in years.

Why was this thread moved from General Autumn????

Anyway, snow still hanging around (surprisingly) and the hills around Oslo ar totally white, and will likely stay that way for a while with cold temps over the weekend (-8 to -1C for Oslo! Brrrrrrr)

Hehe, i believe it doesn't happen often! And here in Sweden the night to October 31 a snow fall area gave the first snow for nearly the whole southern part of Sweden. But we in Stockholm county were never hit, the temp overnight was not even near snow-temps, a lousy 5'c!
