Would anyone like to offer up an explantion of the two white dots inland from the Humber??

They appear almost stationary, but also seem to cast a shadow from the sun on the cloud below as you run the loop.

I'd guess due to it's shrinking area rather than any directional movement that the two white dots are on an area of fog, however that goes no way to explaining what they are! If you look carefully there's also a 3rd white dot on different slides of the animation - just to the left of the obvious two.

I would say that they are thicker clouds caused by steam from power station cooling towers. I'll see if I can find out which ones.

Thanks fine wine, that would appear a plausible explanation if there are any cooling towers directly below those points, but as Andy as pointed out there was a third one earlier just to the west if you look closely at the first frame. Also the odd thing is they don't appear on the infra red image and I assume cooling tower steam would.

Does the plot thicken???

Drax power station is very close as well as ferrybridge and Eggborough Power station, there are three all in a row. Could it be them

anna prop, nothing to do with power stations in my view

what little wind flow there is is from north east OFF the sea not off the land!

the other thing is the spots/dots/areas do not move other than coming and going

typical ana prop in situations like this with inversions around

I think the fading dot is Ferrybridge, Knottingley and the middle dot is Eggsbourough, Goole.
