Hi all, John has put together a brief video to discuss the prospects for snow this Monday, which you can view here:

http://www.netweather.tv/index.cgi?action=beta1;sess=

It's also being used as an initial test of our new video platform, which will soon be used on the Netweather TV service - so please let us know your thoughts on it and if you see any bugs or issues..

Cheers

Paul

(please don't use this thread for weather based discussions)

It buffered a few times for me .. I'm using mobile broadband (t-mobile) . Maybe an option to choose to watch the videos at a lower bit rate would be useful for some .

I would like to see human presence on the video, otherwise you are just another ensemble member

Only joking, it is good, I will watch it every day twice, once before I go to work, once when I get home and once more if there are chances of thunder or snow or both on the 18z

No glitches and no heated discussions about snow or the beast or which model is hormonal atm :nonono:

Thanks for this I just know its going to be a good thing.

By the way I love the MOD, it exudes emotion, after all when some people throw rattles out of prams its sooooo funny sometimes  It reminds me of driving in rush hour :cold:

Kind regards,

Russ.

please remember its not a forecast of snow for Monday, I simply used that day as it APPEARED to have something to talk about using the 06z data output.

So as Paul says its a test to see what is possible so please comment on the technical side not the forecast side.

Nice to see good old fashioned pressure charts hoorah!!

UKMO Global = 50 layers

Global Ensemble = 28 layers

GFS = 64 layers

Quick note to those who haven't seen it - we're beta testing our new video platform with a quick look at whether it may snow on Monday - take a look here:

You shouldn't need any additional software so long as you have flash installed and active in your browser.

Only just caught this but may I say what a pleasure it is to view,

takes all the complexities written in the model thread out (along with the obvious 1+1=2 bile posts) and allows a great understanding for a given probable big "event" in laymans terms for us non techies.

Looking forward to the NWTV bizniss and many thanks to Paul and John  ,

(A little coaching from Stevie M`s old vids wouldnt go amiss, )

Nice one, if Paul can do it, I can do it.

Be nice to be on a video on N-W without the swearing that normally accompanies the US storm chase videos, though that's baecause Paul Sherman and I get so excited on our storm chases.

Really excellent. Should be a big help to dinosaurs like me who need things spelled out for them in this modern technological world!
