Anyone got any ideas where I can take thirty 8-9 year olds on a school trip, dealing with weather, climate and/or environment.

We've already done the Science museum. Help!

Thanks, Loraine.

How about the Centre for Alternative Technology in Machynlleth, Wales. I haven't been for a few years, but there's lots of educational interactive displays. A good day out I reckon. Bit of a trek though... CAT

Thanks for that, sounds really interesting (especially the interactive displays), but you're right, it's a bit too far away.

have you e mailed the Met O to ask if any of their centres are prepared to take young children, in my experience though, and at first hand, we/they tend to want them a little older, but they may be able to suggest something for you to do as a study with them in their school?

Never thought of that! Great idea. Thanks John.

How about these?

Are you a teacher in the UK, teaching students between 5 and 18 years? Do you have a videoconference facility at your school or college? Would you like to take part in a videoconference with a weather or climate expert from the Met Office? If the answer is 'Yes' to all three questions, please register your interest here

Still a trek from your part of the world!
