As I was filling my watering can with my butt the other day, I glanced over to my log store and saw, nestled amongst the drying logs, a bird staring at me. Now, this isn't unusual, as you can imagine, but this one had feathers. Can anyone identify it please?

Hi Oon

Its a Blackbird, the female blackbird is more of a brown colour which from that view could look like a Thrush but the give away is that the nest of a Thrush is linned with mud and it looks as though that one is not . :)

Ah! It's a surpisingly small nest then but my garden is full of thrushes. I've another nest just being built in the loose box and I know that one's a blackbirds as they fly in and out as I stand there.

I did wonder if it was a Sparrowhawk.

Actually, I wonder if the birds had heard that Springwatch was being filmed in my garden because of the presence of a short grumpy sod.

I thought their nests were lined with anti-yeast cream...

Is it a Dodo?

How can you two frightful beasts be so disgusting about a sweet little bird?

OON, I enlarged it to 400% but I don't think it is a sparrowhawk's nest. It doesn't seem big enough.

Don't know, but there will be those that are itching to find out.

Sorry. We'll be more pheasant in the future.

Shhh. You'll make him feel even more inadequate.

Brian Clough did you say. Proper good he was.

He was once proposed as the England coach - they wanted to take all his teeth out and put seats in > Boom Boom :D
