Snow In June

Yesterday was cold and wet. Hovered around 4º at this level of much of the day, so would have been a lot colder higher up. My mum reported snow on the hills above her house in the afternoon, but she's a doddery old bat, so I didn't entirely believe her. However, on my way home yesterday evening, Mallerstang was coming out of the cloud in the distance, and sure enough, there was snow...there's still a bit left today!

Of course, the camera I keep permanently in the car for such occasions had a flat battery, so I had to use my Blackberry, but you can still make it out....just.

Not often you see Hawthorn in flower, cow parsley in bloom, and snow-covered hills.

Great photo's OON. Unusual for June, but the thing that makes it even more amazing, is the contrast to what it was like only last weekend. You gotta love the British weather. :D

Not something you see very often in this Country...... let alone in June :)
