Snowfall reports from 22nd-24th November 1898 when a low pressure pulled southwards across the UK bringing a prolonged rainfall and snowfall to parts of the UK. This was however not a sign of things to come as the winter was very mild especially December which was exceptional.

Meltham, Harewood Lodge: 6 inches

Knaresborough: 9 inches

Dowlais: 5 inches

Rhayader: 1.5 inches

Craigend Castle: 3 inches

Stronvar: 10 inches

23rd November

Swerford: 3 inches

Alstonfield Vicarage: 13 inches

Coventry: 3 inches

Beeston Felds: 3 inches of wet snow

Hodsock Priory: 4 inches

Chelford, Astle Hall: 3 inches

Southport: 6 inches

Wakefield: 5 inches

Knaresborough: Nearly 12 inches

Glasgow: 2 inches
