There was a short snowy spell just after mid-month during December 1909

Snow depths

Drogheda: 6" (18th)

Liscard: 11" (20th)

Castletown: 12" (19th)

Matlock: 10" (19th)

Meltham: 10" (19th)

Collooney: 13" (19th)

Wilmslow: 9" (20th)

Manchester: 8" (20th)

Chelford: 8" (20th)

The cold snowy spell was short lived and it became mild again just before Christmas with maxima getting into double digits widely.
