A few pictures showing the aftermath of last night's prolonged snow up here in the Pennines

The main road out of the village is blocked:

As are other minor roads:

Scapegoat Hill school is needless to say closed:

Gardens in the village looking nice though:

How high up do you live? It must be firly high seen as most other northern parts got a bit of sleety rain.

The village pretty much straddles the 1000 ft contour, but is also on the eastern up-slope of the Pennines so is very favourably positioned for any precipitation coming from that direction, like last night !

Amazing Pennine, Some of you may know this or not know this but i live literally a few minutes down the hill and although we had an inch an' half last night what fell today at home and in Halifax didn't really settle even though it was proper snow(slight thaw on)...however down here i have 9 1/2 inches of snow in the garden on the decking but it isn't stuck to half the things as it is up the road.

V snowy up the road but it is passable!
