Err... 'ello!

Yep! It's that time of year again, seen a couple in the garden pond today. Obvioulsly no dire effects from the prolonged cold. No croaking or bonking yet but it won't be long. :whistling:

Anyone else got a plague of frogs?

Yes seen a large, must have been female in the garden last week. And I went to the front door last Friday night to get my Chinese takeaway & there was a frog on my door step.

Not seen any Tadpoles in the pond yet.

Two weeks ago my daughter and I counted 24 frogs in our pond! They made a late appearance this year but boy did they sing their harts out at night. If you have never heard the 'frog chorus', you havn't lived, it is truely magical. Needless to say we have LOTS of frogspawn, which is looking very sorry for itself now as the frost got to it. The fish are also rubbing their fins in anticipation of the spawn hatching. It's all going on :winky:

Looking good for our amphibious friends! Toads or newts anyone?

We normally only have frogs in the pond although the goldfish did have babies last year :D

Hiya,

This fine fat frog was sunbathing on

my rockery this week.

I have at least 4 frogs so far in my

shallow wildlife pond. No spawn yet.

Unfortunately a nuisance pair of Mallards

have returned, so I'm having to large-mesh

net it over to save the amphibians.

They're after next doors fish too !

I usually have a few toads, but not spied

one this year so far.

BL :)

We had to quickly throw some plastic netting over the pond too. In our case it was a marauding heron!. Lost all our goldfish last year

The milder weather this weekend finally brought the whole gang out and we now have much scrambling activity for 'possesion' :(

We were at Centerparcs last week and I almost stepped on a frog on the way back from a night out. On closer inspection there was a big frog with a smaller frog on it's back. I left them to it
