Rather odd day in Cleadon- it's been mainly sunny, but high cloud has drifted in off the North Sea at times, with some cirrocumulus and even the odd bit of virga here and there. I'm guessing that this is sourced from a frontal system because it certainly isn't your typical North Sea cloud. A wall of thicker cloud moved in at around 4pm but skies are clearing again to the east.

With the winds now off the North Sea, it hasn't been particularly warm- max 11.7C which is near average for the time of year. Last night was warm with a min of 6.7C.

Smashing day up here today, 20C at times on the car thermometer but 19C most of the time. It was quite surreal going over the hills and being surrounded by snow patches with an air temp of 17C.

Stunning sunset developing in Cleadon- clear sky where the sun is setting (I always used to call it "space for sunset" in my childhood weather records) and cirrocumulus for the sun to shine upon.

Another very nice spring like day here, little cloud but a breeze developed taking the edge off the temperatures. More cloud to the North and East, which looks set to roll in during the night. It felt warm despite a max of only 12.7C, yesterday reached 16.8C, that didn't beat the 17.7C recorded on the 17th March here. Current:

Temperature: 7.2C

Dew Point: 2.9C

Humidity: 74% (Rising)

Pressure: 1029mb

Average windspeed: 7mph from the NE

6.6 Hours of Sunshine recorded Today.

Much stronger sunshine than yesterday/Friday (the high cloud was well broken), but the breeze held temps back at only 15. Still a very nice day for the first half of April, better 15 and blue sky than 20 and cloud.

Another mild day today, sunny pretty much throughout the day. As always we were in a small hole in the cloud about the size of Leeds which meant it was sunny all day, max of 15.c which is pretty decent. Although not as warm as yesterdays 19.c, and with a breeze it didn't feel as warm as I would of hoped.

Maybe cuz I'm at the bottom of a hill which rises to nearly 400m!

I would be very surprised if they were 1 foot deep, but as you say "by the looks of it". If you experienced 21.c today and you usually minus 1.c per 100M then it would mean it is 17.c with deep snow, while only been in patches it is unlikely at such low elevation.

A cooler day today with a maximum temperature of just 10.9C and staying in double figures for less than 4 hours. It felt pleasant enough though, after the cloud burnt off this morning it was sunshine for the rest of the day.

Currently mostly clear but just 5.3C.

I travelled down from Cleadon (Tyne & Wear) to Norwich today and there were some notable contrasts regarding how far the North Sea low cloud had penetrated. It was wall-to-wall sunshine from Cleadon down to South Yorkshire, then in South Yorkshire and more especially Lincolnshire there was thick stratocumulus, but it was clear again by the time I reached Peterborough. Norwich, too, has had a clear sunny day, but there was a fair amount of cloud around Ely.

Cleadon had a minimum of 2.1C last night under the clear skies.
