Any idea why the radar hardly ever works for south west Ireland? Just seems to work the odd time and then disappears again!?

Got to say I still use V4 most of the time.

The main problem I have with V5 is the slower transitions between images. It's hard to see exactly which direction and what speed the ppn is moving when the radar disappears before the next image loads.

Apart from that it's definitely looking good, love the map.

I agree, I find that V5 has slower updating between images and occasionally when I zoom in the radar doesn't load at all. Other issues include the lack of a "save personal default settings" type option as per V4.

I'm aware that V5 is beta- just mentioning what falls short on it at the moment! However I agree that the view of the country is very good and a substantial improvement on V4.

Yep V5 beta is still very much at the forefront of our minds in terms of dev schedules etc and there is a new version being tested internally currently. The long and the short is that the priority of late has been the switch to new servers which has taken a bit longer than we'd hoped but should hopefully be complete by early next week.

In terms of updates on development etc, I've been updating the netweather blog quite regularly with info:

Unlike all other UK and IE radars, that update every 5 mins, the SW Ireland radar only updates every 15 mins, so every third image includes it. Completely outwith nw's control.

Ah right, that sucks. Thanks anyway
