Welcome To The New Forecasting Model Discussion

As you will have noticed, we have now split out the model discussions from the general seasonal discussion area. The thinking behind this is twofold - one to hopefully further enforce the need to stay on topic in model related discussions, and two to allow the opportunity to further expand the discussion around the models - so please feel free to start up and threads you think may be of interest.

Some ideas for possible threads could be: model performance, more in depth individual model analysis, mesoscale modelling, long range modelling and so on - the subject is obviously huge so hopefully there will be some really good discussion within this new part of the forum.

Unless you have any objections Paul I'll drop the rainfall checks in re, they are model comparisons of GFS/Extra and UK Met and T+48 fine mesh output for a number of 'spot' locations round the UK.

Also the T+240 checks I'm running could go in here, again if that is okay.

Finally as my old brain can never remember where I put the last lrf I did, I'll put my thoughts in another thread in here?

Please post if any of this is not how you feel this main thread should be used?
