An overcast start to the day, mainly dry but quickly heavy rain spread from the south at 10am. Since then the rain has been mostly heavy and persistant. This evening there has been some torrential pulses especially in the last 20 minutes.

A very wet day with rain for much of the day from early morning, persistent and sometimes heavy from late morning to mid afternoon, then more showery with drizzle in between but a torrential burst just after 5pm. Since then light drizzly patches at times. A very cool day for August hovering around 14C until late afternoon and evening when mild humid tropical maritime air reached here and it has now warmed up to 18.3C. Even at Exeter Airport roughly 7 miles to my NW it is 15C with a very light NE breeze, while here its 18.3C with a SSW breeze

Currently: mild and overcast.
