This comment in the Tropical Storm Igor thread has made me think:

If any name sounds like a Hurricane, Igor certainly fits the bill.

What names (in use or not) 'sound' like hurricanes, and what elements of 'Igor' or any other name are to you important when naming one? How does Igor 'fit the bill'?

Sort-of relevant to this, I made 6 Fantasy (for want of a better word) Storm Name lists of my own a while back. I kept some of the Weather Service choices in there too.

LIST 3 - Avril, Benny, Cassandra, Dario, Emma, Fergus, Gabrielle, Hector, Imogen, Jacques, Kirsten, Levi, Magda, Nigel, Odette, Peter, Rowena, Sebastien, Tammy, Van, Winifred.

LIST 4 - Alfredo, Beatrice, Caleb, Deborah, Edwin, Florence, Gavin, Helene, Isaac, Jenny, Kyle, Laura, Maurice, Nadia, Oliver, Phyllis, Robert, Sally, Tobias, Vashti, Warren.
