UK Outlook for Tuesday 29 Jul 2014 to Tuesday 12 Aug 2014:

There are currently no particularly strong signals concerning the most likely evolution during this period. As such the favoured scenario weather-wise for the latter part of July and first part of August is for conditions to be fairly close to what is climatologically usual for the time of year. This suggests that northern and western parts will be most likely to be affected by spells of unsettled weather. Meanwhile, southern, eastern and central regions have the best chance of more prolonged settled periods, though even here some unsettled weather is likely at times. Meanwhile, where the weather is fine daytime temperatures are likely to be above average leaving conditions feeling warm.

Outlook for Monday 21 Jul 2014 to Wednesday 30 Jul 2014:

Monday will bring a drier day with sunny spells for many and it will remain warm for most with southeastern parts perhaps hot at first. There will be a few showers with more general rain and breezy conditions arriving in the northwest later and into Tuesday. However, this rain will most likely not reach southern and eastern parts. This northwest-southeast split in the weather is expected to continue, with Atlantic frontal systems bringing periods of more prolonged rain at times in the northwest, with the best of the drier and sunnier weather in the southeast, though here some heavy showers are possible, especially later in the period. Temperatures likely to remain on the warm side, perhaps becoming hot again in the southeast. In the northwest temperatures will be around average.

Another well above average month looking odds on now.  That's January, February and April being well above average with all other months of 2014 being above average so far.  We definitely seem to have reverted back to the 1997-2007 weather pattern the last 12 months!

UK Outlook for Wednesday 23 Jul 2014 to Friday 1 Aug 2014:

There will be a few showers with more general rain and breezy conditions arriving in the northwest of the UK at the start of the period. However, this rain will most likely not reach southern and eastern parts where it will be generally dry with sunny spells. This northwest-southeast split in the weather is expected to continue, with Atlantic frontal systems bringing periods of more prolonged rain at times in the west and northwest, with the best of the drier and sunnier weather in the east and southeast, though here some showers or longer spells or rain are still possible. Temperatures likely to remain warm or very warm, perhaps becoming hot again for a time in the southeast. In the northwest, temperatures will be nearer to average.

UK Outlook for Saturday 2 Aug 2014 to Saturday 16 Aug 2014:

At the start of the period, the favoured scenario is for northern and western parts to be affected by spells of rain at times whilst southern, eastern and central regions have the best chance of more prolonged fine weather, though even here some rain or showers are possible. With time, it looks likely that all areas will turn generally more unsettled although there will still be some drier and brighter interludes. Despite this, there is a signal for temperatures remaining warm, with some muggy nights to come. Towards the end of the period, the weather looks likely to become more settled again with some dry, fine and sunny conditions. It also looks likely to be warm, especially in the north and east.

UK Outlook for Thursday 24 Jul 2014 to Saturday 2 Aug 2014:

The far northwest of the UK will be breezy with a risk of some rain at the start of this period and this may be heavy at times. However, elsewhere there will be a lot of dry weather with sunny periods and just scattered showers. This northwest-southeast split in the weather is expected to continue, with Atlantic frontal systems bringing periods of more prolonged rain at times to the west and northwest, whereas elsewhere it will generally remain drier and sunnier, though even here, some showers are possible at times. Temperatures are likely to remain warm or very warm, perhaps becoming hot again for a time in the southeast. In the northwest, temperatures will probably be nearer to average.

UK Outlook for Friday 25 Jul 2014 to Sunday 3 Aug 2014:

Through into the first weekend, there is likely to be plenty of fine and dry weather around, especially across the northern half of the UK. More showery conditions generally affecting southern parts, which potentially could be heavy and thundery at times. Temperatures remaining warm or very warm for many across the UK and perhaps locally hot in places. Sea breezes could keep some coastal parts a little fresher though. During the next week, currently there are signs of Atlantic frontal systems moving in from the west, bringing spells of more persistent rain, mainly to northwestern parts, interspersed with brighter, but showery conditions. Whilst probably drier and warmer in the south. Temperatures also gradually returning to near or a little above normal.

UK Outlook for Saturday 26 Jul 2014 to Monday 4 Aug 2014:

There is likely to be plenty of fine and dry weather across the north and east of the UK over the first weekend. Across the south and west further showers are expected, which potentially could be heavy and thundery, but these should ease by Sunday. It will remain warm or very warm for many across the UK and perhaps locally hot in places, although sea breezes could keep some coastal parts a little fresher. During the next week, long periods of settled weather are expected, bringing a lot of fine, dry and warm weather. Occasional rain may affect northwestern parts with a low risk of isolated thundery showers in the south. Currently, the fine, largely dry and warm weather looks likely to persist until the end of the period.

Largely fine and dry weather is expected across most parts of the UK initially, although there is a low risk of heavy thundery showers affecting the southeast, while in the north an area of rain is expected to move eastwards through Monday. It will remain warm or very warm for many, and perhaps locally hot in places, although sea breezes should keep some coastal parts a little fresher. During next week, lengthy periods of fine, dry and warm weather are likely, mainly over southern areas, but occasional rain and brisk winds often affecting northern parts with temperatures here returning closer to average. The last part of this period should be similar, although there are indications that the more unsettled weather in the north extending further towards the south.

UK Outlook for Thursday 7 Aug 2014 to Thursday 21 Aug 2014:

The recent generally settled conditions over southern areas are expected to persist into the first part of this period. Towards the north, rather more unsettled, with more in the way of cloud and sporadic outbreaks of rain likely. Temperatures should remain above average for southeastern parts initially, but later in the period, a change towards more unsettled conditions overall is looking likely with a higher risk of rain or showers, although there will also be some drier, brighter interludes.

UK Outlook for Wednesday 30 Jul 2014 to Friday 8 Aug 2014:

Many parts will be dry and fine to start this period, although rain or showers look likely to affect the north where it will be cloudier and breezier, with isolated showers in the south. Temperatures should vary from around average in the north to above average in the south, where it may be locally very warm. The start of August looks likely to bring a transition towards less settled conditions, with rain or showers in the north becoming more widespread. However, it will remain on the warm side, especially across the south where the best of any drier, brighter weather is most probable. The weather looks broadly similar for the following week, although there are indications that drier, sunnier periods in the south may become more prevalent.

Heavy showers in northern parts of the UK on Thursday, although with sunny spells too. Southern parts are likely to start drier, although the start of August looks likely to bring a transition towards less settled conditions across the UK, as rain or showers in the north spread south on Friday. Over the weekend and into the following week, it is likely to remain unsettled with showers or longer spells of rain and rather windy conditions affecting all areas at times. However, temperatures should be around normal for the time of year, and perhaps on the warm side in the south. There are indications that drier, sunnier periods may become more prevalent in the south later in the period.

UK Outlook for Saturday 2 Aug 2014 to Monday 11 Aug 2014:

Changeable this weekend with showers and or more prolonged periods of rain affecting most areas. On Saturday, rain, occasionally heavy and perhaps thundery, will clear away eastwards, with brighter conditions but also scattered showers then following. Further showers on Sunday with a chance of more persistent rain reaching some western areas later. The unsettled theme then continues into next week, conditions perhaps turning breezier then, with a risk of gales in some exposed western parts. The unsettled theme is likely to continue until the end of the period, although there may be more in the way of drier and brighter conditions developing across the south and east later. Temperatures should be generally near normal for the time of year, although perhaps on the warm side towards the south and east.

UK Outlook for Tuesday 12 Aug 2014 to Tuesday 26 Aug 2014:

With no particularly strong signals regarding weather patterns over the UK during mid-August, conditions are more likely than not to be close to climatology. As such most regions can expect to see periods of fine weather with some sunshine interspersed by occasional spells of more changeable conditions with showers or rain. Northern parts are perhaps most likely to see the most frequent bouts of unsettled weather leaving southern parts with the most prolonged fine spells. Daytime temperatures are then likely to often be above average during fine spells.

UK Outlook for Friday 8 Aug 2014 to Sunday 17 Aug 2014:

Many areas cloudy with occasional rain or heavy showers during Friday, chance of thunder in the east especially. Rain or showers should mostly become confined to eastern areas on Saturday, whilst the west should be drier and brighter but still with a few showers. Feeling warm and humid in the east, nearer normal elsewhere. It then looks probable that unsettled conditions, with rain or showers become confined to southern or southwestern parts during Sunday and into the beginning of next week, with drier, brighter conditions to the north of UK. Temperatures at this stage around or above normal. Later in the week, perhaps returning to drier, brighter and warmer conditions in the south, with the more unsettled conditions in the north, and temperatures around or just above normal for August.
