These are the only guys that seem to do it in the UK

http://www.go-walkabout.co.uk/

If you Google Storm Chasing Insurance and click on the link it will take you direct to the quote page

Interesting if you look around there are others that are not so tight on exclusions, I've just read BUPA's travel policy document and unless my alcohol induced state has the better of me, I see nothing in there that suggests dangerous occupations or trip. All the exclusions are clear and I didn't see anything related to storm chasing.

How much spending money are you guys gonna take with you? And do you take all cash or cash and pre-paid card? I've no idea on the day to day costs of a chase day.....:unknw:

I took about $600 on a caxton last yer which was plenty. didn't take any cash as you can withdraw this off of the card at

either heathrow or texas. I much prefer this n feel safer not carrying cash. you can also top the card up at anytime on the internet if you find yourself running short of cash which was so handy in florida.

hope that helps

Thanks Jo, I'll check the Caxton website out. On current exchange rates that's less than £400 :good:

You will be hard pushed to spend more than $50 per day over there and live like a King!

$50 x 10 = $500 so $600 is plenty.

Mr S.

Is this member not new to the fine art of Storm Chasing, if so then of course it is deemed their right of entry to buy a round of drinks to each hacienda(read town) visited :fool:

If so then more than $600 will be required to keep you, IamM & IanC oh and Tom in their usual travelling style.

Thsts how caxton works. It's a prepay credit card come cashcard and is invaluable. I think fairFX is the same and I know you can do the same with santander's credit card with no fees but you get a poor exchange rate.

It's nearly time....
