A remarkable October day!

Clear and exceptionally cold last night with a severe frost. One of the coldest ever in this area in October- the only comparable record I could find being -5.2c from near Carmarthen in Oct 2003, although the all time record for Wales is -8.5c from St Harmon, Powys, in 1988.

I was at the coastal town of Aberaeron this morning where remarkably a shade frost held on until midday!

A lovely sunny day, and although the temperature recovered very well, it was still the coolest day of the season to date.
