Hello,

I've just purchased a Davis Vantage Vue, and wish to use Weather Display.

The Vantage Vue has a USB data logger. Can anyone please tell me how (in Weather Display) I need to configure the setup?

Thanks in advance.

It's probably best to get it working with Weatherlink first although you don't have to.

This is the important thing when using weather-display or cumulus - the main alternatives.

You need to make it behave as a 'virtual serial port' - don't select USB even though it is USB [i know]

If you do it wrong it can be resolved but you need download something from Davis.net

I'll find a screenshot of the settings for WD in a bit.

Eek! Guess who had already installed it as USB... I've tried the utility included in the Weatherlink support folder to convert it back from USBXpress mode, but that didn't do anything at all, and failed :(.

Very Best Wishes,

Bob.

I think there's a fault with that if you mean what was included in your weatherlink software.

Don't panic, I did the same - and many do! - you need the CP210X USB to Serial Converter from here.

Have you had it running on weatherlink?

When I got mine version 5.8 wouldn't recognise Vue and had to download 5.9

At last, it's sorted. Uninstalled, rebooted. Reinstalled, rebooted... Voila! :)

Very Best Wishes,

Bob.

I'm thinking of buying a Vantage Vue. Do you absolutely have to have a datalogger? Because the software I currently use logs the details anyway?
