Help On Thunderstorms

    Just wondering if anyone could help me to know what to look out for in the charts when it comes to thunderstorms, maybe post some classic thunderstorms from the chart archive or common sypnotics that are good for them. Got great knowledge for snow in winter just havent a clue what im looking for in the charts with t storms. Thanks

    I was like this, I posted a few charts and got help with them.

    Its like anything, you have to learn to walk before you can run and that is not meant in any negative way.

    Try reading the various Net Wx Guides. Look for the article By Nick F, the forecaster that does the storm warnings for Net Wx. Very good. Try and have a read through the Guide on skew-t diagrams, that should give you a basic understanding about stable and unstable atmospheres. All the 'goodies' you see mentioned in the storm thread, and the charts mentioned, CAP, LI etc all stem from the 3 dimensional actual and forecast through the atmosphere, usually from the surface to the Tropopause.

    Ask questions don't be afraid to ask that is how all of us learnt whether amateur or professional.
