I am assuming we must be under cold upper air because, surely in nearly mid June after a morning of good sunny spells

and with these continuing at the present time, the temperature would other wise be higher than the current max of 15.6c!!

It is cooler at this time than any other day this week, the previous 3 of which had had showers by now whereas today any

showers are North and South of here.

A rather cool and mostly cloudy morning so far with one light shower.

For all the wailing and gnashing of teeth in the model thread regarding the lack of Mediterranean weather in this country at the moment, and for the forseeable future, it's been a dry and quite sunny start to June in these parts, albeit not particularly warm.

Just 7.0 mm rainfall in the first 9 days of the month, one of the driest starts to June on record. Coupled with over 60 hours of sunshine it could be much, much worse from the summer lovers' perspective.

I agree TM, admittedly the current model outlook is pretty depressing for warm/dry/sunny summer lovers but a lot of the OTT wailing in MOD on previous days got up my backside to be honest. It was a similar story last June too, although not as extreme.

Norwich's weather is currently cloudy with a thick layer of altostratus and bits and pieces of drizzly rain, and a temperature of 16C. This convective spell is turning out to be a non-event in Norwich with two dry sunny days on Tuesday/Wednesday, a few light showers yesterday and now cloud and drizzle today, and still the area looks semi-arid.

A min of 5.2C last night, then a day with some showers around after a mainly sunny start (more at school a few miles away than at home). A more organised band started about 4:30 with a gust front like feature and winds veering from southerly to the NW, then NE!. There was then about 45 minutes of moderate to heavy rain giving 5mm.

Most notably, the temp dropped to 7.1C during this (5C at Liscombe at 348m)! Here's a temp comparison for you:

Temp at 5pm 3rd June: 26.4C

Temp at 5pm 10th June: 7.1C!

Silly temperatures for what's normally near the warmest part of a June day.

Currently 8.9C, cloud clearing east and some sunny intervals from patches of blue sky, 5.6mm rain today.

Agreed, it has been a pleasant if rather cool start to June here, missing the worst of the showers and good sunny spells.

Clear with a ground frost last night.

Sunny periods this morning, then rather cloudy with a few light showers this afternoon. Moderate southerly breeze veered NW this afternoon. Rather cool again.

Min: 1.5c @ 0300

Rain yesterday: Nil

Rain since 10am: 0.6mm

Currently: Rather cloudy but dry, cool.

The heavy showers stalled just south of here this evening so managed a dry day other than 2 very brief light showers, sunny spells at times to until around 4:30pm when cloudy skies returned.

High was a chilly 13.9c though.
