Great Year For Bee Orchids

This had been the best year I can remember for Bee Orchids in my area. On the 80 metre walk between the thermometer screen and where I take the wind speed readings I counted 17 within a couple of metres of the path. There have been some years when I've found only one or two after an intensive search of the whole moor.

You lucky devil, they're definitely one of nature's wonders. Haven't seen any around these parts this year but lots more than usual of the Early Purple and Common Spotted; took the dogs for a walk up here http://www.megalithic.co.uk/article.php?sid=8364 the entire hill was carpeted with them.
