Despite this very mild start to September, today is the first morning where I've awoken to clear skies. After a max of 22C yesterday, it fell to 12C at dawn. Currently 13C and not a cloud in the sky. Beautiful weather.

On a side note RIP to those who tragically lost their lives in 9/11.

Missed most if not all of the weekend rain so far here with just 0.6mm since Friday. Another bright, breezy but reasonably bright morning here though I understand other places have had a good soaking at some point in the last 24hrs or so.

One of the best morning starts in ages. Blustery with scudding cumulous and plenty of sun in between. Katia seems to have moved further north than expected so SW will be unlikely to get very high winds now. Scotland and NI still in for a blast, though so hope all will be OK there. Forecast one of the best I have seen for some time so expectations are high for a decent amount of mid-September sun here.
