...is how dry it was but that was the case for the November 1909. Very dry Novembers as compared to other very dry months are very rare. The driest November on record, November 1945, is not even in the top 50 driest months ever record for England and Wales. November 1909 recorded 33.0mm for England and Wales and is the 5th driest November on record and yet since January 2010 we have recorded 3 drier months than this.

High pressure, frosts and sunshine dominated this month, it wasn't until the last week that the weather became unsettled which prevented it from being exceptionally dry compared to other months.
