Fantastic day up here today, by and large clear blue sky and sunny, (and amazingly warm !), but all day surrounded by fog on all sides. So of course I had to grab the camera, go for a walk and take a few snaps:

Looked like that here 2 days ago, interesting sight to behold.

There same could not be said of yesterday though as the fog had thickened and persisted through the day which reduced visibility by quite a lot.

Fascinating isn't it, if you have the technology try some time-lapse - just leave your camera running in video mode for 10-15 minutes then speed it up with moviemaker or something.

You can often see bizarre 'ocean wave' and flowing effects.

Good idea 4wd ! I hadn't thought of that, so next time the opportunity arises I'll give it a go. You don't always think of fog as being very mobile, but the way it was ebbing and flowing and swirling around yesterday it actually is surprisingly so.

This is one I did but a different sort of fog we get here a lot where it forms then breaks as air comes over the hill.
