There was a short Arctic northerly flow from the 26th to 28th November 1889 which brought snow and frosts.

Some reports

26th November

Scarborough: Storms of snow and hail

Llandovery: heavy fall of snow

Watten: About 4 inches of snow

Hurdlestown: snow 1.5 inches deep

Galway: 3 inches of snow

27th November

Lower Walmer: Heavy snow, vivid lightning at night

Sheppey: about an inch of snow

Berkhampstead: Snow half an inch deep

Ipswich: snow and sleet all day

Driffield: Drifting snow: 6 inches

Scarborough: Snow storm with heavy thunder and lightning at 11am

Haverfordwest: 7 inches of snow on the Precelly range
