There's enough energy to get precipitation over the Welsh mountains, (remember the night of 17th December 2010 anyone?)...however, it's got North Wales written all over it at the moment.

....and so the night continues!

Yep but it has to go over the cambrians though first :(

Would they be so mean as to take all the precipitation for themselves without leaving any over for us lot?

Temp still falling here, 1.8oC - must be turning sleety soon.

Temperatures falling nicely, fair way to go though.

I know its painfully slow out there, hoping its will last till morning as that's the time its forecast for heavy snow here.

2.9 Temp

2.3 Dew

Just confirms its raining outside

Temps down to 2 degrees here with 0.5 degree dew point, rain not arrived yet but shouldnt be long, presumably temps will rise as the rain arrives?

Been raining for well over an hr here

Northampton - And its not raining yet despite raintoday showing otherwise ? Does anyone know what the implications are of the system moving through quicker than expected? Will that mean less snow potential too?

Further north by about 30 - 40 miles i'd say.

This means, apart from percip further north , a longer back edge more cold mixing ?

If the whole lot swung east now...Stourbridge would fall down that dry line between areas of precipitation thats running through mid Wales!

As annoying as it would be....I think I would see the funny side....I think.....maybe.

Seriously though...not sure its worth hanging around with work in the morning. Its going to take time for things to turn more interesting if they do.

This time last week...I was expecting my west facing windows to get slammed round about now!

NAE much better midlands on the 18z........

True, precipitation is heading more northwards right up into the more northern parts of east midlands at one point. But the snow/rain graph doesn't show any snow at the same time, a bit odd. But yes a good chunk of snow showing prior to that. Definitely an upgrade :)

Keep looking at the Cardigan bay lump of precip, i reckon the NW edge of this could cause problems - its gathering momentum and should show sign's of direction soon, the low is well on its way up the channel.

2.6 Temp

2.2 Dew

Its falling so fingers crossed, i think we may get a dusting more from the Cardigan bay lump than the main area of Precip.

What do you all think?

Sorry but someone said that the precip was 50 miles away, was 6 hours away and so was moving at 0.8 MPH? How on earth can 0.8 x6 =50!

LOL!

Well I hope you midlanders get some snow tonight.

Cardigan lump swinging east anybody seeing this?

Playing back the radar it's more a case of the band developing further east over the mountains, the Cardigan Bay stuff is fairly static.

For the record, drizzly here 2.4c, DP 1.7c
