Next European Weather Satellite Due For Launch Soon

Metop-B, the next polar-orbiting satellite, is due to be launched on 23 May. It's already arrived at its launch site http://www.eumetsat.int/Home/Main/News/Features/816870?l=en

This is an unusual year for ESA and EUMETSAT as a second weather satellite will also be launched this summer - MSG-3, to be known as Meteosat-10. It's a busy time for both European Space organisations.

The Metop-B launch has now been postponed, see news release http://bit.ly/JMbiS7. But MSG-3 is still on schedule for a 19 June launch.
