I've never heard of this until now but what happened to 9 ski hikers in the Urals on the night of the 2nd February 1959?

Very interesting reading, and quite an assortment of factors.

Aside from the radiation, then the most natural conclusion would be avalanche I think, as this could replicate the trauma injuries sustained.

What I find strange, it seems strange to me anyway, is that footprints were still visible 3 weeks after the incident. Yet you look at the photo of the tent, it looks pretty exposed.
