Despite on the surface a cool wet outlook many places have seen wintry weather.

An increasingly wintry outlook over the coming days, with an increased chances of Snow to Western, Central and Northern areas over high ground.

Night Time frosts also look to be making an appearance under clear skies, dropping close to freezing.

Temperatures by day continue below average, max here of 5.c today under sunny spells.

NAE highlights the wintry possibility tonight as showers push in to Western areas.

Computer models have underestimated the shower activity with precipitation making it's way across ireland and retaining a degree of intensity.

A more organised trough forming over the Irish Sea, and N.Scotland
