Husband is retired and bored. I was thinking of getting him a weather station , just a basic beginners one, to see if it sparks a new hobby. What kind of thing would be suitable?

Prefer a site that takes paypal if possible.

Whist I have one of the expensive Davis pieces of kit, I still get weather shop information, such as that which was sent to me today.

Have a look at their latest offers.

I'm sure there are plenty of choices out there and there should be another link with advice given by other netweather members, on these forums somewhere.

I would HIGHLY recommend this station.

My wife bought me this station nearly 4 years ago for Christmas. It's been through 3 house moves and is still going strong.

It's cheap for what it does which includes

Wireless transmission (The station is on my roof with the control panel in my front room)

    Wind speed and direction.

Indoor and outdoor temperature, humidity and dew points (Great for winter and forecasting snow).

    Rainfall.

Internal memory so it remembers highest and lowest values of the above.

all data can be uploaded to your computer which plots graphs and stores data.

An absolute steal for under £65.

Great customer service too. I snapped one of the wind cups whilst moving house and they sent me a replacement for free!!

    I'm not on commision (promise!).

Sorry I didnt see this - thanks xx He isnt into computers at all, so would need to be one with just a control panel that you could look at without a computer.. Is that possible?

EDIT- actually Paul that one looks ok, think I'll get him that one.

IF he doesn't annoy me at all today! :)
