Paul- you know sleet was a wind up-

the chance of sleet is currently along a line west of london curve sse away down to west sussex where the slightly milder air bends on the curvature of the isolines-

essex / suffolk all fine, kent fine, surrey/hampshire/west london etc possibly borderline

S

Norfolk??

Nobody else pleased by those fax charts?

Warm sector midday Monday shunted west to Cornwall?

Lovely occluded front curling round in -6/-7 uppers right over the South East overnight on Monday/Tuesday?

No? Anyone? Oh well.....

By the way, the zero hour fax looks as though someone got bored and decided to see how many fronts they could possibly squeeze in.

I've always thought that overnight Monday into Tuesday could be when this neck of the woods hits a potential jackpot! Latest Met fax seems to back this up

anything East or NE of a line from

Oxford-

Reading-

Basingstoke-

across down to

Worthing in that sort of line-

this is subject to correction East or west-

UKMO looked west with the FAX, ECM looked east with the 72 chart

Driving from Kent to Nottingham (University) around 6ish early tomorrow morning and then dad will be driving back at around 10am if all goes to plan. I've been bogged down by revision so haven't been able to keep up to date with the snow situation... Can anyone advise if we are likely to run into anything on the journeys there or back in terms of snow? Any help much appreciate

Just saw your post steve. The places you describe are quite further West then W London which you say is border line?

Are you referring to your point made that areas west of the above locations are more likely to see sleet and those east of your locations to see snow steve?
