post-11617-0-37599900-1359142997_thumb.jDo people not use the radar ?, can they not see the precipitation bottom left over manchester moving towards yorkshire?

The initial band struggled over the pennines but as Keeley said on look north it will get more organised and more will get over in the next few hours as you can see it building on this picture

Yes i have used the radar......and nothing is getting over the pennines here, and i mean nothing.

A bit irritating that the heavier stuff to the west is being blocked by the Pennines yet heavier stuff keeps also forming just the S and E- still, had more than some so far.

Give it an hour and if still nothing i will hold my hands up, but i think it will start to make inroads

Snowing heavily here in Scarborough. For those worried about marginality, temp has dropped from +0.2C to -0.6C since the snow arrived.

0.3C and sleeting. Some larger flakes within but no chance of adding to current accumulations - interested to know what it's like on the higher parts round here but agree that extent of snowfall this evening appears to have been overestimated for all but highest ground and points East. Sleeting now in Manchester too according to 1920 obs.

Chill guys, the weather front expected to give us heavy snow this evening/tonight isn't even over us yet, it's currently in a line NNW from Exeter ~ Belfast, you can clearly see this on the radar. In a few hours time it will merge with what's trying to get over the pennines currently and we will have a good few hours of intense snowfall. drinks.gif

The oddest thing ever here, I have a 2 metere temp of minus 2.1 c yet a dew point of only minus 0.9 c.

Pressure is falling very rapidly now also.

Dry here right now. I'm going to take a bulldozer to the Pennines and take a bit of height off them.

None of this is coming like I expected, even in north west thread places like St Helens that were reporting rain an hour ago now have heavy snow.
