Sleet and wet snow this morning a slight covering..

Over night low of -0.4c

Current Temp 0.3c

Dp -0.2c

Wind Chill 0.2c S/S/W 3mph feeling raw.

Saturday 09th February 2013:

Cloudy overnight with light rain commencing around 03:30 GMT, the light rain slowly turned to sleet, and changed to light to moderate snow by around 07:30 GMT. At observation, the snow has turned back to slight sleet. Just a sprinkling of wet snow on lawns.

Today's readings for the 24 hrs up to 09:00 GMT:

Maximum temperature to 18:00 GMT yesterday: 6.0°C

Minimum temperature overnight 0.7°C

24-hour maximum 6.0°C

24-hour minimum: 0.7°C

Minimum temperature on grass: -0.3°C

Light rain died away last night, though remaining cloudy. A few clear spells developed through the early hours, with also a few wintry showers locally. Low –1.0c with –2.6c on the grass. The morning to observation has seen a few cloud breaks allowing some brief watery sunshine, now mostly cloudy again, frost thawing. Cloudy for most of the morning with just a few bright spells. The afternoon saw more broken cloud allowing sunny spells. The early evening saw a few clear spells before turning cloudy again.

A dry start to last night but, after midnight, light, occasionally moderate, snow moved in from the west.

The snow died out by 0730 and it's currently cloudy and foggy.

A very marginal situation for lying snow. 2cm here, just over 1cm at 280m and no lying snow at all below 240m.

At 0900;

24 hr min; 0.0c

Grass min; -1.4c

Rainfall in 24 hrs ending 0900 2.1 mm ( melted snow )

Mean wind speed; 6 mph W/SW

A touch of ground frost last evening then the temperature eased up a bit with skies mostly cloudy until dawn, even with the odd spot of rain, the low was 1.1C just after 2100z, its now on 3.6C with about 6/8 Sc Ac, most of it looks like Ac

A clear and frosty night with a min temp of -1.7C, the first air frost of the month.

Currently completely clear with unbroken sunshine and a temp of 4.7C.

Overcast and chilly with persistent fog above 290m. A few flakes of snow this morning and a few spots of rain or flakes of snow this afternoon. Almost all this morning's lying snow had thawed by mid-afternoon.
