Chucking it down with snow here but not really sticking. Grass and cars only.

We need the precip to intensify, every time i look at the radar the precip seems to fragment to the south of us. St Neots for you and Milton Keynes for me.

temps here are 2.4 deg dp 0.8 just that bit too high

a covering now in sedgley and gornal.....but drove to tipton and bilston and its not stuck at all due to lower reliet but only a matter of time I would say.

Yes, possible. If the snow is heavy enough and long enough what is on the ground just turns to an icey mush which isn't so wet, the snow settles a lot easier then.

Alternatively it falls to freezing - snow obviously has no trouble settling on ice.

Mozza, you have exact same elevation as me in Sedgley and you posted about Beacon Hill earlier, I reckon you must live on my doorstep! I'm just off Bath Street..

I'm gonna give up for a couple of hours now and see what happens between now & 9 I've been working all day from the dining room table looking through the patio doors into the garden waiting for sleet to turn to snow!
