Hi Kent, your description of your late father in law matches my feelings exactly! In fact we feel so at home in Cornwall we are going to live there next year I have spent 44 years in beautiful Dorset and I can't complain too much about the weather here it does do us proud, eventually! However I long to be near the rugged coast of North Cornwall, come rain, snow (or no snow) floods and sunshine!

Best county in my book. Just 1 bit of caution,be prepared for many bitter,bitter dissapointment's each winter.

I admit, I'm one of those people that wore a T-Shirt today. I feel comfortable in a T-Shirt and so any sniff of pleasant sunshine etc and I'm in one.

Having travelled from Exeter, to Castle Cary, to London, I have observed that the weather is consistently dull, but thankfully dry everywhere! So no matter what anyone thinks of the cold, the dry weather has been beneficial, especially in the South-West. However, I am off up to the North-West Highlands for a week on friday and there the weather has been very dry for a long time so that major fires are now a risk! I think neither flooding nor fires is preferable, and travelling between the South-West and Scotland, it looks like I may see both!

The comments on that article make me dispair

does everyone think an unreliable media article, or single wrong (possibly temporarily) prediction and a few winters on under 1% of the world mean climate change/global warming doesn't exist and scientists are scammers etc?

Anyway on a different note! what a lovely 2 days even if a bit chilly in the wind, sunny and reaching over 9C, seems like a triumph lol. Glad yesterdays forecasts of it clouding over here this afternoon didn't actually happen.
