Yup......looks really black over St Helens way. Another big one heading st Helens way just crossing cost-looks like you're in for a succession of them.

Too much of a NNW rather than a straight NW for those of us further N to see any of the showers.

Looking out over Morecambe Bay this morning there's plenty more to come for those of you further south.

Been a small amount of snow on the hills overnight with a slight dusting over the tops.

Enjoy the snow those that have it.

Just woken up, opened the curtains and it was nothing. Just frosty and sunny here, not a cloud in sight. It is too far north and too much high pressure influence, killing the showers.

I don't think there will be any showers from the sea anywhere soon. At least theres a storm brewing.

Pip.  The HP isn't killing the showers . There are plenty of showers moving inland further South. It is down to the wind direction.

If we were to get any showers out of this we'd need a more NW or even a WNW, currently the flow is more NNW, hence the showers are moving further down the coast before moving inland around the Merseyside area and passing into Cheshire.

If you look out to the west you'll probably see all the clouds out over the coast around the Southport area moving inland.

Met office forecast for today/tomorrow shows this - today dry with a NNW wind. Tomorrow, wet with showers in a W/NW wind.

Hail showers most of the night which alternated with rain showers, even to this morning.

Few hail & snow showers this morning. One moderate one around 90 minutes ago and now it's Azores blue skies. Lovely :)
