Whilst uploading old BBC forecasts, I came up to this little gem by Rob McElwee from 10th February 2002. The light goes out on him and Rob's touch of eccentricity comes to the surface.

Should never had let him go!

He was a top guy at forecasting and had a lot of charisma. Then again he couldn't be chained to a studio and I guess had to move on.

I believe he is still employed by the Met office but was taken off TV screens

Look at those February maxima.....they look so high given what we've seen recently!

The 90s and 2000s were dark days for coldies!

As an ex forecaster I agree to a point and chiefly about Rob. He was a one off, a bit like Ian Mac was. As to Peter Gibbs, he is perhaps the best presenter to the public in my opinion but each to his own preference.

I like Peter Gibbs

He has hardly changed in appearance! This was Peter back in November 1998!

I like to see Daniel Corbett to return doing forecast for the BBC. I remember hes quite a legend for saying: ''Thats the weather for now'' at the end of every forecasts. Hes quite a joker too. smile.png

He definitely has aged in the last 10 or so years, here he is back in December 1998

Maybe to you, I think he aged just a little bit since 1998. I can tell by looking at his face.

Maybe you just referred to his hairstyle. Hes got darker hair in 1998 and his hair gone bit greyer couple of years ago.

Oops....can anyone spot Rob McElwee's mistake?

Rob labeled London as Enfield.
