Ski tracks in the Ptarmigan Bowl on CairnGorm Mountain. Cool zonal setup with further mountain snow and drifting for the coming week looking likely!

Hopefully, we wont have a repeat of last year where every LP that blew through melted it all before any snow could be deposited.  I want to get my board waxed n ready for action looking at those images!

Cairngorm mountain are currently assessing prospects for skiing this weekend. With the forecast to remain cold with snow showers this week, we could get an early weekend on the slopes.

What is the snowline in Scotland?Someone on the scottish thread said it was 1500feet which seems way too low. For us to get that here we need about 5c maxes everyday.

The snow line is lower than 1500 feet in places. Eg Glencoe. Look at the webcam which shows snow below 1200 feet. (Can't link with daughters I thingy). Max temps at low levels in the Central Highlands have been between 3 and 7 this week.I see reports this morning of snow down to around 200 mtrs in the Tyndrum area. The camera at Tyndrum on Traffic Scotland was still showing a smattering at lunchtime today. Edited by Norrance
