With the run up to last nights storm, it was an interesting week watching it develop on the models..

It is looking like another storm will hit us next Sunday 10th..

This time it could cause a nasty tidal surge down the Eastern side of the country, with potential storm forge gusts.

    GFS looks stormy

    ECM nothing unusual

GEM is the best one as it brings high pressure and is not interested in any storms

As mentioned, the GFS seems to want to make the most of the system next weekend, bringin another 975mb low over us.

Most of the GEFS ensembles are mixed. Some don't even show a low, and some show something much weaker. Most put any low further north than the GFS.

You always get the one though..

All models are backing away from anything stormy on Sunday now

Yes, it's more likely that there will be a storm on Saturday instead, here.

Its looking quite windy tomorrow for here to be honest!

Looks like there will be gusts of 35-40mph in quite a large area inland. 50mph+ on coasts and high ground.

Latest GFS has the potential rain element of any storm for Sunday actually coming in nearer to Monday:

Looking a little breezy for NW and W Scotland tomorrow. Apart from that the mostly benign weather goes on here for Sunny Sheffield. Next Monday and Tuesday look a little more interesting but nothing really noteworthy.  Looks like I'll be mainly watching the rainfall total go up.

GFS still seeing this as a late Sunday into Monday event and not that much more than the usual Autumn affair:
